Stuck in a rut?

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in the hamster wheel of life and that you aren’t going anywhere or that what you are doing doesn’t REALLY matter?  Well that’s how I have been feeling so, as you know, I quit my job and I am looking for ways to earn money from home or at least on my own schedule and learn how to escape the daily grind and perhaps even make a small difference in this beautiful world of ours!

First of all you have to make the decision that you really want to escape the corporate world.  This could mean making less income and adjusting your lifestyle, remember everything is a trade-off.  I am willing to simplify my life in order to have a work/life balance.  This doesn’t mean I am not going to work but I want to work on my terms.

Let me share with you my current top 10 ideas to earn income while still being free to enjoy my life, feel free to leave me a comment or let me know what you have done!  As I progress through these I will share my challenges and successes with you!

  1. Start a Blog.  (In progress)
  2. Vegan (whole foods, plant based) home delivery meal service
  3. Franchise travel agency business
  4. Air BnB hosting (we do this already and it is an excellent source of extra revenue)
  5. Dive Instructor, ski instructor, massage therapist, yoga teacher etc
  6. Guide for an adventure travel company (I.e. Backroads or G expeditions)
  7. Clothing line or spa product rep (I have had a lot of experience in the spa and retail fields so this could be an easy transition.)
  8. Learn to make websites (I have started the Codecademy FREE courses on-line)
  9. Uber driver
  10. Professional banjo player (just kidding on this one … I have started the banjo but it is going to take me a VERY long time before anyone taps their feet along to my playing).

These are just some ideas I have.  I am looking into continuing education courses in areas that interest me (namely nutrition, nature and wellness) and will share more on this as I move forward.

One month into unemployment and my creative juices are flowing but I will soon need to make more than juices to survive…

    1. I totally understand Joan. It’s great to have goals and something to aim for. I have worked the long hours and long days as well but I want to make sure that I ‘don’t regret those things that I didn’t do’ – to paraphrase Mark Twain. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!
